'TOTALLY FINE' X-Men star Alan Cumming tests positive for Covid despite being double-jabbed & urges people to get vaccine

X-MEN star Alan Cumming has revealed he's tested positive for coronavirus despite being double-jabbed - as he urges people to get the vaccine.

The Scots actor confirmed he has the virus after the positive test result but insists he is not displaying serious symptoms.

The Hollywood star told followers he believes he is feeling "totally fine" and "pretty asymptomatic" due to having had both doses of the vaccine.

Posting on social media, the 56-year-old has said he is feeling fine, telling everyone "the vaccine works."

In a video, he said: "Hello everybody, I just wanted to tell you I have Covid and I feel totally fine.

"I have got one of those breakthrough infections.

"One day last week I felt I had bad allergies and a bit achy, that was probably me fighting it off.

"I'm pretty asymptomatic and I'm double vaccinated.

"This just in - the vaccine works!"

Cumming also encouraged other people to get their vaccines.

He said: "Before I was vaccinated I was really scared about getting Covid, because I'm asthmatic and I was worried about what a repository virus could do to me.

"So the idea that I've got it now, and didn't even know I had it, I only found out because I had to get a test because I was supposed to fly to London today, that shows that the vaccine is so effective.

"Anyone who you know who hasn't been vaccinated, please encourage them to do so, for everyone's sake."

This comes after news that SNP ministers’ advisers have said kids may no longer have to wear face masks in classrooms after teachers are double-jabbed.

Experts also urged the Scottish Government a month ago that a change in the 10-day Covid isolation policy was needed for children amid fears the harms outweigh the benefits.

Nicola Sturgeon has previously said the aim was to double-jab all adults by September 12.
