The Ottawa Book Expo is scheduled to hold on Sunday, October 20th, 2019, and several authors and publishers have been booked to attend. Unlike most other book festivals in the Ottawa area which seem to cater only to well-established and famous authors like Margaret Atwood and Lee Maracle, the Ottawa book Expo would accommodate all writers and publishers, who are in the Ottawa area. The Expo would provide guidance and exposure for new writers, and inspiration for veteran authors.

Book lovers and librarians are also gearing up to gracethe Expo alongside bookstore owners who are looking for new titles to display on their bookshelves. The event is open to all writers and publishers locally and internationally. The Expo is a grassroots-oriented author, publisher, bookseller and literary services festival which supports authors and publishers who seek to promote marginalized voices such as those of different cultural backgrounds, gender and LGBTQ communities.

Several interested exhibitors are signing up at for the festival which promises tolots of books, some of which include; Finding Fatima by Tony Porfilio and inspirational children’s book Little Cricky by Canadian author LilianaHoton. There would be various galleries of different authors showcasing their artistic book covers.

Authours and publishers who are interested to join a really large gathering of authors and other professionals seeking to network with each other and market their craft to a larger audienceare also gearing up to attend.  At the Expo, writers would have the chance to network and make book sales.

The Expo would hold at the Horticulture Building in Lansdowne Park.It would be an opportunity to learn about new opportunities in the digital publishing space.

The festival would be one of the largest gatherings of authors, publishers and other professionals who want to link up with each other and reach out to a larger audience in Ottawa, Canada and all over the world.

The publishing industry has witnessed a shift from traditional publishing, to digital publishing. Due to this digital revolution, strategies for marketing books may have changed, which means that efforts that previously contributed to publishing and marketing success may not be as successful in today’s world. Contemporary writers are therefore expected to continue to improve their craft;sometimes they also need to hire experts in the field who can help them to effectively navigate the world of book publishing in this digital age. These experts will be present at the festival.

Interested participants, who live outside Ottawa and do not want to travel, are invited to apply to become a ‘Featured Virtual Exhibitor’. This would afford you the same visibility and benefits as regular attendees.
